Tyne Industrial Archaeology Group – TIAG – exist to further interest and participation in the industrial archaeology of primarily, but not exclusively, Tyneside.
Are you interested in subjects such as waggonways, mining, railways and shipbuilding, plus various other aspects of engineering and industrial processes, both past and present? If so, why not come along to one of our meetings and bring a friend too?
Our meetings are held in The North of England Institute of Mining and Mechanical Engineers, Neville Hall Lecture Theatre, Westgate Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 1SE. (This is more generally known as “The Mining Institute” and is on the corner of Westgate Road and Orchard Street, just past the Station Hotel.) Meetings are between 7.15pm and 9:00pm on Thursday’s from September to April. Please check the Meetings page for the exact dates.
The Central and Metro stations are a short walk away. On street parking is available in the city or off street in the Dean Street multi-storey.
